Proizvodnja bioetanola i biokemikalija iz otpadnih poljoprivrednih lignoceluloznih sirovina na principima ekološke i ekonomske održivosti (SPECH-LRM, 9158)

O projektu:

Glavni cilj ovog projekta je razvoj ekološki i ekonomski održivih bioprocesa proizvodnje bioetanola i biokemikalija [mliječne kiseline (MK) i fiziološki aktivnih oligosaharida (FAO)] iz otpadnih poljoprivrednih lignoceluloznih sirovina (npr. pšenična slama, stabljika i oklasak kukuruza, ljuska grašaka, luka, kakaovca ili oraha i pulpa šećerne repe). Svi ti poljoprivredni nusproizvodi su obnovljive i relativno jeftine polisaharidne sirovine koje nemaju utjecaj na cijenu hrane u svijetu. Predobrada tih lignoceluluznih sirovina biti će provedena pomoću termalnih, kemijskih ili enzimskih metoda (ili njihovom kombinacijom) s ciljem dobivanja adekvatne strukture sirovine za primjenu u biotehnološkom procesu. Novi tip horizontalnog rotirajućeg cijevnog bioreaktora (HRCB) koristit će se za proizvodnju bioetanola i mliječne kiseline na polučvrstim (ili čvrstim) supstratima pomoću prirodnih i genetički modificiranih mikroorganizama. Za dobivanje proizvoda visoke čistoće proučavat će se inovativni postupci za izdvajanje i pročišćavanje bioetanola i biokemikalija (mliječne kiseline i FAO) s ciljem njihove praktične primjene. Procjena održivosti proizvodnje bioetanola i mliječne kiseline izvršiti će se pomoću LCA (eng. Life Cycle Assessment) metodologije. Na osnovi rezultata LCA analize formirat će se efikasni i održivi biotehnološki procesi proizvodnje etanola i mliječne kiseline. Procedura za povećanja mjerila koja je neophodna za prijenos bioprocesa u industrijsko mjerilo formirat će se primjenom integralnog matematičkog modela bioprocesa kao i ostalih kriterija povećanja mjerila. Glavni rezultat rada na ovom projektu su novi ekološki i ekonomski održivi integrirani bioprocesi za pretvorbu otpadnih poljoprivrednih lignoceluloznih sirovina u proizvode više dodatne vrijednosti.
